Doris Lynn Duke

Funeral services were held for Doris Lynn Duke, 73, on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 11 a.m. at the Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in Smithville. Brother Virgil Hibdon, Jr. and Brother Mike Satterfield officiated, with interment in the Hillview Cemetery.

She died on Wednesday, February 17, 2010 at the Riverview Regional Medical Center in Carthage.

A resident of Smithville, Mrs. Duke was a homemaker, a Christian, and attended the Faith Congregational Methodist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, H.C. Duke; a daughter, Kathy Foster; a grandson, Tracy Cassity; her parents, Woodrow and Beulah Malone; and by a brother, Ralph Malone.

She is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Teresa and Ronnie Turner of Liberty, and Queta and Dale Seifker and Stephanie and Danny Austin, all of Michigan; grandchildren, Sherry, Danny, Jr., Rocky, Tia, Ashleigh, Blake, Tayla, and Deidre; and by seven great grandchildren.

She is also survived by a brother, Woodrow Malone, Jr. of Watertown; a sister, Linda Saylors of Smithville; several nieces and nephews; and by a special friend - her poodle for 13 years, Sugar Duke.

Pallbearers were Dewey Duke, Willie James, Duane Dillard, Jeff James, Larry Green, and Gregory Matthews.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in Smithville was in charge of the arrangements.

Gordon Lee Summers

Funeral services were held for Gordon Lee Summers, 68, on Saturday, February 20, 2010 at 2 p.m. at the Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in Smithville. Brother Virgil Hibdon, Jr. officiated, with interment in the Bethel Cemetery.

He died on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at his home.

A resident of Smithville, Mr. Summers was a foreman with the Corps of Engineers and was affiliated with the Freewill Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Annell Summers; his father, John Lee Summers; and by a brother, Albert Lee Summers.

He is survived by his mother, Kenzada Summers; three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Bobby and Sue Summers and Roger Dale Summers, all of Smithville, and Allen Douglas and Kathy Summers of Liberty; two sisters, Linda Kay Bailiff of Smithville and Mary Jeanette Farris of Warren County; and by several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers were Randall Hunt, Albert Summers, Ronald Whitaker, Ricky Bailiff, Gerald Bailiff, Dale Simmons, Robin Summers, and Richard Summers.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in Smithville was in charge of the arrangements.

Eveleen Walls

Funeral services were held for Eveleen Walls, 85, on Friday, February 19, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in Smithville. Brother Freddy Copeland officiated, with interment in the DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

She died on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at her home.

A resident of Smithville, Mrs. Walls was a retired machine operator and was affiliated with the Copeland Chapel Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jvon Walls; her parents, George and Lillie Wilhoite; and by six brothers and two sisters.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Lynda and Don Poss of Smithville; two grandchildren and their spouses, Greg and Lisa Poss of Old Hickory and Jeff and Christime Poss of Nashville; and by two great grandchildren, Libby and Abby Julian of Cookeville.

She is also survived by a brother, Floyd Wilhoite of Alabama; a special nephew, John Richard Wilhoite of Alabama; and by three sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law, Marie Walls, Betty Sandlin, and Earlene and Charles Olsen, all of Smithville.

Pallbearers were John Richard Wilhoite, Ron Hogan, Danny Wilhoite, W.J. White, and Jerry Scott.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in Smithville was in charge of the arrangements.

Bill Tittsworth Davis

Funeral services were held for Bill Tittsworth Davis, 83, on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at the DeKalb Funeral Chapel in Smithville. Brother Michael Hale officiated, with entombment at the DeKalb Memorial Gardens.

He died on Sunday, February 14, 2010 at his home.

A resident of Michigan and a DeKalb County native, Mr. Davis was a U.S. Navy veteran and a retired mechanic.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Cantrell Davis; his parents, Everett and Allie Tittsworth Davis; brothers, John Gray, Frank, Jack, and Bob Davis; sisters, Frances Chinn and Ethel Mae Davis; and by a niece, Brenda Davis Hines.

He is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Jim and Lois Davis and George and Lenora Davis, all of Smithville; a sister-in-law, Marsceen Davis of Smithville; a nephew, Tony Davis of Smithville; and by two nieces, Donna and Evette, both of Michigan.

Pallbearers were Tony Davis, Jim Davis, Steve Gunter, Dean Adcock, Ray Doyle Cripps, and David Cripps.

DeKalb Funeral Chapel in Smithville was in charge of the arrangements.

Claude Randall, Jr.

Funeral services were held for Claude Randall, Jr., 80, on Thursday, February 18, 2010 at 1:00 p.m. at the Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in Smithville. Brother Don Davidson officiated, with interment in the Whorton Springs Cemetery.

He died on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at the DeKalb Community Hospital.
A resident of Smithville, Mr. Randall was a retired roofer.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude and Lela Randall; and by several brothers and sisters.

He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Lois Randall; and by a daughter, Debra Fuson, both of Smithville.

He is also survived by three sisters and a brother, Lexie Hutchison, Lucille Alexander, Leda Benge, and Johnnie Randall, all of Kentucky; three sisters-in-law, Jeanette Young, JoDean Redmon, and Nevelene Reeder, all of Smithville; and by two brothers-in-law, Mack Redmon of Murfreesboro and Nelson Redmon of Michigan.

Pallbearers were Larry Redmon, Bebo Robinson, James Young, Danny Hale, Chris Smithson, and Tracy Foutch.

Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in Smithville was in charge of the arrangements.
